About
Foundry Cast Iron is a family run business based in West Sussex. We strive to provide the best customer service, support and advice we can to help our customers get the correct products always at a fair price. We are proud to boast an Excellent 5-star Trustpilot score.
My name is Mark Spence and I have been in retail for over 30 years. I run the day to day bits along with my wife and son. We strive to provide the best possible service with a personal touch. We are happy to communicate over email or better still, you can just phone us. If we don't have the answer immediately we will always know someone who will and get back to you ASAP. We can also usually make ourselves available at times that suit you better even if they are out of our opening hours.
We are mainly a website business, however we do offer a home selection service and attend various trade shows. Our home selection service involves us loading our van with a range of radiator samples in different finishes. This gives you a clearer idea of what your new radiators could look like. This is a service offered to customers within a 50 mile radius of our registered address. More info to come...
We understand that Internet shopping is not for everyone despite how convenient it is. To help reassure you, Foundry Cast Iron Limited Company Number is 10570083 and our registered address is 5, Linnet Close, Littlehampton, West Sussex, BN17 7GW. Our VAT number is 269 9140 63.
Our email is info@foundrycastiron.co.uk and telephone 01903 251310. We always appreciate any feedback, suggestions or requests as we hope to keep improving our offering.
Terms & Conditions
Foundry Cast Iron always recommend that our customers do not install their pipes until their radiator arrives. The dimensions are approximations and therefore can vary slightly, so to avoid disappointment have your plumber fit your pipes to match your radiator. It's not a problem if you already have the pipes in place but please contact us before you place an order and we will advise of the best options and solutions.
PRICES
All prices include VAT at 20%. Prices that are quoted on our site, are correct, however, if an error has been made we will contact you to advise you of the amended price, to allow you the option to continue or cancel the order.
PRODUCT COLOURS & FINISHES
Colours should be only taken as a guide. Most PC screen resolutions differ so products can look different on different computers. A standard radiator is painted with a black primer before it is assembled to your specification. If it is ordered in the standard black primer finish no other finishing or re-painting is done after assembly. It is expected that the customer will re-prime and paint the radiator themselves.
Radiators supplied in a primer coating must be painted with a suitable and heat resistant paint. It is strongly recommended that the customer engages the supplier to provide this service and top-coat the radiators. If the Customer chooses to do the topcoat or contracts a third party all guarantees are void, the supplier strongly recommends that the Customer uses Hammerite or a similar high-quality radiator paint. This is not a finished or sealed finish and should not be sold as such. Finish imperfections such as paint scratches or anything else is not considered manufacturing fault as this coating is not guaranteed and should be painted over. If ordering the same painted radiator finish in separate batches, it is likely that the paint may appear slightly different in shade.
For those radiators which supplied in a polished finish, some are oiled and some are lacquered. Oiled radiators require regular minor maintenance to prevent surface oxidation. Lacquer will help prevent surface oxidation, however, it will not prevent this from happening if the radiator is in a humid wet room or wet clothes or other items are placed on the radiator. These products will not be polished in between sections or on the joining collar at the bottom of the radiator as it will be hidden under normal installation.
Cast Iron Baths have a rippled enamel interior and a white primer exterior. If we are painting the radiator or baths we use the RAL Colour Specification or Farrow and Ball paints to improve consistency. When radiators and baths are shipped they are inspected and carefully packaged but due to their bulk, some minor scratches may occur during transit or when being moved into place.
Unfortunately, this is almost impossible to avoid and we will not be able to be responsible for this. We do supply touch-up paint with all orders free of charge. Obvious damage during delivery is completely different. Please call us if you have any special painting requests.
DELIVERY
We strive as a company to give the best possible customer service and value. With this in mind we offer competitively priced delivery to the mainland UK, Cast Iron Radiator & Stove delivery is £69.99 per pallet with each pallet holding up to 4 radiators/stoves. If you live in the Highlands and Islands (These postcodes: AB, DD, FK, HS1-9, IV, KA 27-28, KY, KW, PA, PH, ZE2, ZE1) you are probably well used to surcharges for living in such a beautiful part of the UK so hopefully, our £40 Cast Iron Radiator pallet surcharge and £80 Cast Iron Bath surcharge feels fair. All deliveries are made kerbside to the ground floor level of the delivery address. Please contact us if you require special delivery requirements other than this. Generally, the delivery of our unfinished radiators or baths takes less than 10 working days. Our "ready-made radiators" are delivered in around 3 working days. RAL Paint finishes are normally delivered within 15 working days. Special finishes take up to 20 working days. All delivery quotations are estimates and Foundry Cast Iron cannot be held liable for any variance to those stated. Fire surround delivery usually takes around 3 working days.
If products have to be placed on special order the lead time stretch and you would be advised of this in due course.
Delivery times are merely indicative and are non-binding. Foundry Cast Iron cannot be held liable for any losses incurred by the purchaser, due to late delivery of the order or part thereof. The purchaser is responsible for the supply of all relevant information to facilitate the quoted delivery time e.g. any access issues, fully correct postal address, etc. We will be charged for any re-deliveries and we will have to pass this cost to the customer. We ask that the drivers contact the customer 1hr before delivery. Please bear in mind that cast iron is heavy and will require at least 2 strong persons to move radiators or baths once delivered kerbside.
Valves and Accessories are sent free of charge using Royal Mail Tracked 24. Orders placed before 2 pm should arrive on the next working day. This service is not available for The Scottish Highlands and Islands or Northern Ireland. Most items are kept in stock, if it isn't possible to send your order for next day delivery we will contact you. We can offer Saturday and Early Morning Deliveries if required, please phone for the price.
Please note all products should be checked on delivery to check there has been no transit damage to the product. If there has been please email us on info@foundrycastiron.co.uk within the 24 hours with photos of the damage, to allow us to make a claim against the courier where we will then be in a position to supply replacement items or parts. In the case of pallet deliveries, the delivery company is required to wait 20 minutes to allow for checking of transit damage. Do not sign if you have not checked as claims cannot be made at a later date if the delivery has been accepted. Again, please take a photograph and contact us immediately if there is any transit damage.
